Poker Run / Social

Greg Danner did a super job of scheduling another fun filled day for our great club. A poker run that would end with dinner on the river.
Twelve SOCA Corvettes and one RVC guest joined up at Miguel’s restaurant in Eagle Point. The drive of course was absolutely beautiful, with several nice stops along the way so we could draw our poker cards. The poker run ended at the fish hatchery near

Lake , where yours truly won the high hand of poker, and Dustin and Jennifer Newkirk won the low hand. Splitting the pot, Jody and I received 88 dollars and Dustin took home 87 dollars.
When we arrived at the Guadalajara restaurant in Shady Cove for dinner, we noticed that a certain Corvette that we won’t name, (Bumblebee), was missing 2 lug nuts on his right rear wheel. This is when I learned that the newer Corvettes are not supplied with a tire iron, jack, or spare tire. The new Corvettes come with Run Flats, or a can of goop and an air compressor if your tire gets low.
Anyone remember the old days when you still had to change a tire? Jody’s 1976 Corvette came to the rescue. We used her tire iron from her Corvette to check all the lugs on all the wheels. Yes folks, they were ALL loose. It appears the owner, unnamed, allowed a friend to mount his tires, and his friend never torqued the wheels down. This is why friends don’t let friends mount their tires. HA HA.
In the end dinner was fantastic, we all had a great day, and the Bumblebee Corvette went home with tight nuts.
Best Regards, Jeff Gerber
P.S. have you checked your nuts lately?
