2008 Take A Walk On The Rogue
Take A Walk On The Rogue

Take A Walk On The Rogue is a community celebration of the city of Grants Pass. It was started eight years ago as a celebration of the opening of a new pedestrian bridge across the Rogue River. It has since grown into a huge summer ending celebration for the entire community. Featuring over fifty activities for the whole family, food, music and fun.
SOCA was asked by the city if we could supply some Corvettes for a display / car show. Well our members, once again, came through in fine fashion, bringing out seventeen of their finest. Other than some very old mostly steam powered tractors, we were the only vehicles on display, which is only fitting as the Corvette is America's Sports Car.
We alternated between answering questions of the many visitors, and enjoying the events of the day. At about three in the afternoon the winner of the People's Choice, for the spectators favorite Corvette was announced. The proud winners of the People's Choice plaque, for their beautiful 2004 Black Z-06 with "illusion" flames, were Richard and Christy Heimlich.
