CORVETTE WEEKEND 2009
Corvette Weekend 2009
Shortly after 9:00AM on Friday July 10th the first guests arrived at registration in The Event Center at The Lodge At Riverside. By days end 204 people in 105 cars would be checked in
for the Weekend. Friday evening, everyone was back at the Event Center for a Meet & Greet, that featured Food, Drink and a Blindfold Golf Cart Race.
Fairly early, it was off to bed to rest up for Saturday.

Early morning Saturday, all our weekend cars gathered at Riverside Park, on the banks of the beautiful Rogue River for the Show & Shine, a Funkhana and a great Barbeque lunch. Then it was off on an optional Scenic Road Tour With stops at Wild Life Images and Griffin Park on the banks of the beautiful Rogue River, eventually ending up back at the Event Center.
Next on the busy schedule was the Jet Boat Dinner Cruise. A four hour trip on the Rogue River, through the Hellgate Canyon, and back to the OK Corral for a great dinner.

Back at the Event Center after the Jet Boats, it was time to PARTY. Rocky & The Revellettes provided the great songs of the 50s & 60s for us to dance to and sing along with until after 11:30PM. During the band's first break we had the Best Dressed Club contest, won by The Corvettes Of Fresno. Finally, it was off to bed.

Sunday morning wa again gathered back at the Event Center for Breakfast and the Trophy Awards, including the Candlelighters Kids Coice Trophy that went to Len & Nicki Colliander of Sherwood, OR. Thier car was picked out of all the rest, as the favorite by a group of Candlelighter Kids. These are kids, being helped by our charity, Candlelighters For Children With Cancer. Near the conclusion of the awards, we were pleased to present to Michelle Morgan, the Southern Oregon Chairperson for Candlelighters, a check in the amount of $3,000. A big Thank You to all of our sponsors, and all the participants who bought raffle tickets, who allowed us to help support the great work that Candlelighters does, to help make the fight a little easier for all the kids and thier families.
Everyone attending had a wonderful time, and we, the members of the Southern Oregon Corvette Association, want to again thank all the great folks that attended this year, for helping us make the Weekend a great success. We hope to see you all in 2011.
